great times last night. failed at beer pong .... its been way too long. met some new french kids and made friends with the security guard. today i scaled a mountain at the calanques. we decided to take a new route which led us to see the most amazing view of the city. i love hiking. after we decided to go to the beach but unfortunately witnessed an intense motorcycle accident waiting for the bus. passed by the scene on the way back and found out that the guy didn't make it. so sad. really puts life into perspective. life is too short so don't take anything for granted.

Today was such a beautiful day. Amazing weather of 75F....went to the city and helped Ash shop. Cookies, wine, group work.... now off to the foyer. so happy with my purchases in Aix.

Traveled to Aix-en-Provence this weekend with Maggie. CouchSurfing sucks and thank God for our Alotra connections. First night was amazing.. Maggie and I went to dinner where I had duck liver for the first time... soo good. I am now in love with medium rare steak and am not sure if I will go back to my overly well done preference. An old french man bought us flowers and tried to explain his life story by drawing a shit load of pictures on napkins. Second night Alotra kids came to party but it didn't end up so well. Some nights you just don't ever want to ever remember again. It's amazing how your body and brain can react to extreme situations. Violence never solves anything.

London Calling...

amazing. 3 nights and 2 days.... total of 7 hours of sleep. Stayed in Camden Town and loved the youthful rock scene. Unfortunately got 80 pounds stolen from my wallet in the hostel. Went to a club the first night, danced a lot and met some interesting people. Did a lot of site seeing, went to some pubs, walked down abby road, spent too little time in the national portrait museum. Ended up cafe hopping reading the picture of dorian gray while the girls went to see a musical.... awesome. Oh how glorious it was to be an in English speaking country again!!! So much easier to get around. I want to go back.

Running Wilde

I am now fascinated with the great Oscar Wilde. The Aesthetic Movement is amazing and I admire their values. Being centered on the doctrine that art exists for the sake of its beauty alone is extremely inspiring. I feel that having that outlook on life experiences will do nothing but bring pleasure and better understandings. He was not afraid to be different, which is why he was so great. I have a feeling I made one of my best purchases last weekend at Shakespeare and Company in Paris.

Totally adventured solo to Paris and met up with my friend Ross! Stoked that I was able to make it around by myself... loved the experience. The city was beautiful but definitely very touristy even in October. The best thing was going up the eiffel tower at night. Seeing the entire city was absolutely breath taking. Next time I definitely want to check out the art museums.

We live our lives around rhythms and tides

having to go to school when your in France should not be allowed. I wish I could be here doing nothing but traveling, being at the beach and going to live shows. Pulling an all nighter tonight!!! Finance kicked my ass and now im onto packing for Paris! My first overseas travel adventure by myself and I couldn't be more excited. Thank God for tea and espresso! While taking our test my group was interrupted by an hour thunderstorm. I can deal with lightening because its cool to watch but I definitely can do without thunder. It scares the shit out of me.

Happy 21st Birthday to Jill and Tracy! All the lovely ladies of Alotra dressed to impress tonight and went downtown to eat some delicious food. I ordered the La Royal pizza which was pretty good. Thin bread, not a lot of sauce, olives, mushrooms, olive oil, mozzarella cheese, ham..... yummmmm. And of course.... great rose wine.
